YMCA Swim Team Registration Open - August 20

    Hello everyone,

The Nazareth/Easton YMCA Swim Team (Blue Fins) registration is now officially open. There are two steps to registration:

    1. Register on the team website, neys.swimtopia.com. This gets families onto our team email list and provides access to meet entries, results, swimmer historical data, event sign-ups, and the Swimtopia mobile app.
    2. Register at the YMCA front Desk (33 S. Main St., Nazareth, PA 18064). Fill out the official hard copy registration form, sign up for a YMCA membership and for the swim team.

I highly recommend joining the YMCA, as that's where I believe each swimmer will get the most out of competitive swimming in terms of stroke development, conditioning, types and number of meets available, and team culture. I'd rather see everyone do some sort of swimming over the winter, rather than nothing, so I always show Lopatcong team members their other options. However, I'm pretty sure none of the other clubs/teams/programs in this area offer the YMCA or Lopatcong as an option to their swimmers.

Although, I believe that too shows how we make our program's philosophy a practical reality. We believe in developing lifelong swimmers and promoting the sport in the region, which means providing options and supporting swimmers even when they join other programs. Having said that, definitely make sure you come back to Lopatcong next Spring. :)

YMCA team fee varies depending upon the swimmer's age for the regular season (Oct. Feb):

    1. 8/U = $300
    2. 9/Above = $375
    3. $325 each additional child 9/Above, 8/U still $300
    4. High School swimmers only pay $100, plus the YMCA member fee. We're flexible and work with the various high school coaches and schedules to avoid conflicts. So, every high school swimmer should feel free to join; we work with each swimmer's goals.

There's also the YMCA membership fee, but it varies depending on the option you choose. Plus, I think membership is still free to lifeguards who work there.

Hope to see you at the YMCA,

    Coach Drake
